Yaphank, NY – The Prospects finished the 2013 season yesterday, losing 2-1 in 8 innings to New Jersey’s Northern Valley Ravens in the semi-finals of the Baseball Heaven 14U Wood Bat Fall Finale. The Ravens, featuring 14U Team USA’s Justyn-Henry Malloy, were the eventual tournament champion.

The loss was just the 2nd in 27 games played by the Prospects this Fall. In a competitive schedule of major tournaments and playing up to 14U competition throughout the Summer and Fall, their overall and final record for 2013 was a very successful 54-16-2. Having reached the play-off round in all of its league and tournament play this year, the Prospects won championship titles in the Baseball Heaven Spring Challenge, Baseball Heaven Labor Day Tournament, Baseball Heaven Fall Fiesta, and the Boys of Summer 14U Fall league.

While suffering a defeat on the last game of the season seems a bitter end, it’s always good to leave something wanting more. It reminds us that we must always endeavor to improve ourselves.

Stay thirsty my friends.

Let’s work hard over the Winter.

See you in 2014.
