Prospects Drop BoS Opener to Ropes
East Meadow, NY – The Prospects stumbled out of the gate in today’s Boys of Summer season opener with a 5-1 loss to Frozen Ropes 14U at Eisenhower Park.
Pitching and defense led the way through four innings of a scoreless tie.
The Prospects broke through in the fifth when a lead-off single by Jacob Cheshire and an RBI double from Nick Valeriano put the Prospects ahead 1-0. But the Ropes answered back in the bottom of the inning with a lead-off base hit, a walk and two errors leading to three runs.
After the Prospects went down 1-2-3 in the sixth, the Frozen Ropes put together four hits to push across two more runs.
Eric Solomon reached base with his second hit for the Prospects in the seventh but was stranded.
The summer season continues Sunday at 12:30 with two games against Diamond Baseball Academy.
