'Three-peat' at BBH Columbus Day Wood Bat Tourney!
Yaphank, NY – The Long Island Prospects 12U team ran the table once again at the 2012 Baseball Heaven Columbus Day Wood Bat tournament to take home the championship title, their second tourney win in as many tries since reforming as the Prospects in August. As the NBNM Rebels, this team captured the Columbus Day title at 10U and 11U before successfully defending their crown again this weekend as Prospects. Their 6-0 performance included a dominant pool round, 46 runs-for to just 4 runs-against total, 2 rule-rule victories, as well as a gut-check 1-run game in the semi-final before defeating the Mattituck Mets, 5-3, in the final.
The Prospects’ as-yet-undefeated fall season continues when they ride a 15-game winning streak back into Boys of Summer 13U fall ball with a double-header against Braves Baseball on October 21, 9:30 AM at Burns Park in Massapequa.
