13U Prospects Ousted from 14U BoS

Posted by Long Island Prospects on Aug 06 2013 at 05:02AM PDT in 2013 Spring-Summer

Among a field of sixteen 14U teams in the top division of the Boys of Summer, the 13U Prospects concluded the summer season last night with a hard-fought 3-2 play-off loss to finish fifth in the final standings.

En route to their 17-8 regular season record, the goal of ‘playing up’ to challenge this team was achieved. Starting back in May, game after game, Prospects players have been quite literally looking up at their older, larger and more physically mature opponents, most of whom already have a season of high school ball under their belts.

In order to compete in this league, this team needed to play high-quality and advanced baseball. Their .680 winning percentage confirms they were very successful in their mission. The experience has only made this team stronger in the long run as this class of 2017 approaches their freshman high school year.

The objective of this organization remains to ‘build better ballplayers’ by teaching all aspects of baseball and challenging our kids to continuously improve their game and themselves.
