Farmingdale, NY – The NBNM Rebels defeated the Farmingdale Greendogs, 7-3, at Farmingdale today. Game 2 of the scheduled double-header was postponed due to rain.

Rebels’ starting pitcher Brian Porricelli provided three dominant shut-out innings and 9 strikeouts allowing just one baserunner on a walk in his day’s work. RBI singles from Billy McAdam, Eric Solomon and Matt Conry gave NBNM a 3-0 lead after three. The Greendogs worked an error, a couple of walks and a basehit in the fourth into 3 runs to tie the game. As they so often do, the Rebels responded in the next half-inning when Alec Acri delivered a 2-out single to left field to drive in Matt Nilsen and Kevin McCleneghan and retake the lead. Relief pitcher Michael Proios kept Farmingdale off the board the rest of the way picking up the win while the Rebels tacked on two more runs in the sixth.

As the steady rain increased, the umpires decided to postpone the second game.
